I was experimenting with benchmark software and thought I would post the result. The process was interesting. I'm not sure why it says my operating system is Windows 8 because I'm running Windows 10.

You're running an outdated build of FurMark from before Windows 10 was around, that's probably why. Also I found a funny quote in another forum:
Furmark doesn't kill cards. Heat does.

Here is mine. Everything is bone stock running at stock speeds, no tweaking, yet................... And then there is my favorite Texan, Bojac, running an outdated version of Furmark :anger:

Look at the results using my old machine, Quad Core 2 with the GTX 670. Note the resolution. That machine has a smaller screen using a 1440x900 but it would only test in the resolution shown. Also keep in mind, this test does NOT reflect actual game results. Most times your results in game and comparing it with a stress/bench mark tester can vary widely! Which is why most bench mark sites note results with both FurMark and in-game testing.

Finally was able to get the other machine to test in the proper resolution. Notice how fast it falls back.

Now run it on your new machine and calculate how much each frame cost.

Ex. 55 fps on old machine. 75 fps on new build which cost you $1200. 20 fps difference between the two. Each frame costing about $60.

Yes but the difference in game was very noticeable which the bench mark does NOT reflect my young Padawan :-) If I was to use that old Quad Core machine with the 670 and try and game, it would be even worse. Playable? Sure, enjoyable, probably not. BTW I've owned both machines many years. The only update performed in the last 4 years besides updating with more RAM a year ago is this GTX 970 card.

The bench mark is not the game. I seriously doubt it does so poorly. This is why I got out of the bench marking game years back when Doc and I were constantly battling it out with our PCs (friendly battles of course). I've generally found these bench marks (FurMark is not the only high level testing bench) rarely gave me anything but a very general idea how the system would perform in game. Look how BF4 and even DayZ poorly implemented the graphics engines in their games early on. Even super high horse power systems ran in the double digits with FPS.

p.s. I also remember poor scores on bench marks years ago, yet the game ran flawlessly with high FPS with mid to high graphics settings. I simply do not have very high faith in these test.

I'm sure you can't compare to Nails. His resolution was very low.
